When you get a haircut, most of the time is spent a bit bored, idly sitting there in awkward silence.

So what if you could change that? 

As a Sunny Helpers student leader,

you can help save lives just by talking to the person cutting you hair.

Do you not like presenting an idea to people you don't know? 

Well, it's a valuable skill that will follow you through the rest of your college and

professional adult life, so why not practice it here and get comfortable with it?

Do you want to help bolster your portfolio of impressive activities for college and jobs?

How about a personal project that shows initiative, makes a real difference, and helps

 save lives in your community? This is it! And it doesn't cost you anything but talking 

while you get a haircut.

You can do it! You have access to all the scripts and materials right here on the website:

 use them and get others talking to their hairstylists here or wherever else. You can build

 your own Sunny Helpers Organization.

1. Take a minute to look through our resource page here and familiarize yourself with the materials.

2. Print out all the materials and assemble your kit.

3. Go through the script to talk about Sunny Helpers with your hairstylist; practice in front of a mirror even (just like you will be when you actually talk to them about it!); and above all else, be excited, this is cool what you're doing so take pride in it!

4. Then, it's as simple as talking to them and handing over the kit.

Congratulations! You have helped to save lives.
